Barry Wangsness has worked for Electronic Specialties Inc since 2019. He has been in the wireless industry for 30 years helping customers with solutions for all kinds of needs.
He grew up in Albert Lea, MN, and graduated from high school in 1985. Barry was in the United States Marine Corps from 1985-1989 and graduated from Minnesota State Rochester in 1992 with a degree in Electronics.
The Radio/security business in the last 30 years has changed in a lot of ways and keeping up with the technology can be challenging. He started by working on radios out of college and soon decided to get into the sales side of the business. He has enjoyed listening to customers’ needs, asking questions, and then finding a solution that fits their needs as well as their budget. He really likes seeing a project from start to finish and how it evolves plus how it can save time and money in the end.
He’s married to his wife, Lisa, and has a stepdaughter named Erika. They love to travel, and all are certified in scuba diving. He loves to golf, ride motorcycles and is a Minnesota Wild fan. He also played hockey through high school and still does now, but a lot slower.
